Blizzcon 2008: The Return
Monday, October 13th, 2008We cleared out of our hotel by noon, just barely, and met Irina for lunch at P.F. Chang’s. Which turns out I also don’t like! I was a rough reviewer on restaurants this trip! Irina regaled us with stories of how bad work and her weekend was going, and Josh talked about meeting Sam Raimi. So it was just a lunch, then Josh called a cab and got whisked off to the airport. We said our goodbyes to Irina, and headed off to the car, at around 2:30pm. The GPS somehow got us going south on I-15 instead of North. I swear that thing is bugged out somehow. Didn’t cost us too much time, and we listened to more of the Lord of Chaos on the way. We ran out of juice about 11:30pm, and stopped in Beaver, Utah to fill up gas and decided just to get a room at the Comfort Inn next door. It was about 25 degrees, with snow on the ground in some places, and we were wearing shorts and t-shirts. Quite the difference from California!
We rolled out of the Comfort Inn about 11:30am and made it home about 7:30pm, after picking up Kylie, of course. Who wiggled like crazy to see us and seemed a little concerned we were going to leave again, so she kept a close eye from the door of what was going on with the car. When we’d dropped her off, she was too concerned with hunting kitties to realize we’d left her behind til later.
She’s really skinny. She went from eating 4 cups of food a day to only 1 cup, too busy watching kitties to being bothered to eat. She ate like a horse when we got her home though, so I’m sure she’ll be back to her normal weight soon enough.
